Our condo was very nice with modern decor. We were on the third floor and couldn't really see the beach from our balcony. However, we overlooked the pools, which were very nice and clean. Our unit had a washer and dryer, which is essential when you vacation at the beach. Everything worked well and was nice.
The only thing that would keep me from staying at this condo again is the fact that there are several other high rise condos around it. While kept nice and clean, the overabundance of people there did not create the relaxing atmosphere that I desired. Also, the competition for space on the beach by the condo was so crazy the we actually drove to the public beach access where it was less crowded.
Overall, the beaches are beautiful, the condo was nice, and there are many things to do for family or singles at Destin. I will definitely be back, but will look for a more secluded place to stay. Reviewed on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 Upon arrival i was hit with $200+ charges - ok i should have read the small print but this fee consisted of circa $92 cleaning fee...i thought this was excessive and exopected the apartment to have been cleaned during my stay and new towels but this only covered cleaning to be administered after departure (i should condier being in the cleaning trade at a cost like that), secondly i was required to pay $28 per day for amenities. The only amenities i used during my stay was a sun lounger - twice for about 3 hrs at a time. I complained but was told this covered gym and various discounts for local restaurants. I approached an advertised restaurant by the complex but found it closed/boarded up - so i did not even get the chance to use it. In my future vacations to Destin/Fort Walton i will not be returning to Ariel Dunes. Reviewed on Thursday, May 07, 2009Lewis, I appreciate your review. First, I would like to mention, that Seascape does not hide fees. We are not in the business of upsetting or guest. When you book your reservations online through a 3rd party vendor, such as Travelocity.com, they publish the nightly rent of the units. However, they do stat on their websites that there are additional fee's that are collected by the resort at check-in.
Our Cleaning fee's are at industry standards in our area. No matter what vacation rental management company you choose, there will be a cleaning fee attached to vacation rentals.
Our amenity program includes daily beach set up of 2 chairs and umbrella from the vendor on the beach, a $40.00 daily value. Also included is 40% off of Golf at both Seascape and our sister course Emerald Bay. Discounts on watersports, bike rentals, tennis, shopping, local attractions and dining. This only offered by Seascape Resort Inc and no other management company, even if staying on Seascape.
You mention going to one of our advertised restaurants and it was closed and boarded up. YES, unfortunately our Whale's Tail Restaurant recently was deystroyed by fire. This is beyond management's control. The entire power grid of Miramar Beach was down for 5 hours and when it returned there was a power surge and caused an electrical fire. We are all sadden by this, but Whale's Tail will be re-built and better than ever.
